Winslow Agriculture began acquiring farm land in Bulgaria in 2004/5. The
business currently farms 2,500 hectares in one block and owns 1,900
hectares across three main regions.
Winslow Agriculture has a proven track record in acquiring and operating
Agricultural land in Bulgaria. Currently the company farms more than 4 500 ha of agricultural land in the
region of Parvomai. We cultivate grain and oil crops: winter wheat, winter
barley, corn, rapeseed and sunflower.
Winslow has particular strengths in direct Farm Management. Through
operating the land to a high professional standard and generating strong
operating returns – this will further underpin land value appreciation. It
is more likely on exit that an Institution will capitalise income and
therefore generating strong net returns will enhance capital values in the
long run.
Land ownership in Bulgaria is extremely fragmented relative to many other
countries (but quite similar to Romania and Czech Republic). This
represents a challenge and at the same time Winslow have developed
strategies to address this challenge.
